Age-Friendly Minnesota published Minnesota’s Multisector Blueprint for Aging in late 2024. The Blueprint articulates a plan to ensure that all Minnesotans can thrive as they age. It was developed collaboratively with community members, state agencies, community-based organizations, and other key partners.
The Blueprint is organized under four domains: Connected Communities; Emergency Preparedness, Individual Rights and Safety; Optimized Health and Longevity; Economic Security and Vitality. The plan defines strategies, objectives, and initial tactics for each domain.
In March 2025, Age-Friendly Minnesota launched five Action Teams to delve into objectives and create specific plans for achieving them. More Action Teams will come soon. The initial Action Teams will address these objectives:
- Affordable Housing
- Equitable Opportunities for Physical Health, Mental Health and Well-Being
- Integrated and Coordinated Care
- Long Term Care
- Meeting Basic Needs and Beyond
Each team is convened by a leader with experience in the domain and includes representatives from a cross-section of interested parties and community members.
Action Teams are charged with:
- Facilitating partnerships among diverse sectors and partners.
- Keeping abreast of emerging trends and challenges associated with the objective area.
- Developing a plan of action to implement tactics identified in the Blueprint.
- Advocating for policy changes that are needed to achieve the Blueprint objective.
Age Friendly Minnesota welcomes participation on the Action Teams from individuals with lived experiences and subject matter expertise. If you would like to join one of these Action Teams, reach out to farah.baig@state.mn.us.
