Through the federally funded Digital Equity Act, the Minnesota Office of Broadband Development is developing a statewide digital opportunity plan to reduce gaps in access, device ownership, and digital skills. The public comment period on the plan runs now through September 29.
Please read the draft plan and share it with your networks. You and others in your network can submit input online or by mail. You are also invited to attend one of many listening sessions planned across the state from August 29 through September 28. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Reliable, affordable high-speed internet access is paramount to older Minnesotans, but access and adoption have remained elusive. In addition to access, it will be critical to help people acquire the skills, devices, and capacity they need to access the internet and reap the full benefits of our digital economy.
