Congratulations to Linda Giersdorf, former Executive Director of Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, on her appointment to the Minnesota Board on Aging by Governor Tim Walz.
Giersdorf brings more than 35 years of experience in the field of aging. She retired from the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging in 2018.
Linda was raised on a dairy farm near West Concord, Minnesota. This experience instilled her with a love of rural Minnesota and a passion to ensure older adults living in rural areas have access to the support and services they need to maintain their independence and their ability to live in the setting of their choice.
“We are extremely excited to have someone with Linda’s knowledge, history and experience with the aging network on the board. Linda will bring an important rural voice,” said Jason Swanson, Executive Director of Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging.
The Minnesota Board on Aging is the designated state unit on aging for Minnesota. Through Minnesota’s seven Area Agencies on Aging, it administers federal and state funds to deliver services to older adults and their caregivers.
